Gorgeous Godson

When my best bud said she was coming to Devon from Birmingham for a holiday, we arranged to meet up at a half way point so that we could catch up on gossip and see little Dylan.

Trago Liskeard was the chosen venue, as we could get that far up country after our shifts at work, before it closed.

We then planned to have a meal at the Halfway House, before going our separate ways once more.

After a mooch around, we went across to the pub, where we had a go at the jig saws that Dylan bought in the store

Then sadly it was time to say goodbye once more…

We had a lovely time with our friends, even if it was short and sweet.  Until next time….

Catching Up With Dylan

We have been trying to find a chance to catch up with Kelly, Paul and Dylan since we arrived in town, but finally, tonight we are able to do it.

Now, tiny caravans and little boys tend not to mix, but Dylan, being my Godson, and me being by no means biased, was a little star!

We are lucky enough to have ducks on this camp site, and on Sally-Ann’s suggestion, I grabbed some old bread so that Dylan could feed them.
The ducks were very happy and Dylan got to be up close and personal with them

It was a short but wonderful visit, but soon enough it was over, and my lovely friends had to head back home to get the little man to bed.

Thanks for coming over to see us, it was lovely to catch up x

A Visit From Friends

It’s been a few months since we last saw Kelly, Dylan and Paul, and Oh My Lord, how my little Godson has grown!

He and Fred soon remembered that they were friends, and went charging around the garden with Fred’s teddy bears or Dylan’s Gordon the train and his tenders.

We are now in the questioning stage….. what’s that? why? What’s that? Very funny….. but we are also in the cheeky stage….” ‘ello gorgeous!” So cute!

It was so lovely to be able to catch up with Kel, I really miss not been able to do that unless it’s by email, text or phone.

The next visit will be in June when we are in the Midlands for a week.  Can’t wait!

Capri Sun

We have had a very lazy morning. Dylan has had his nap in his stroller in the garden, with Fred laid on the floor asleep underneath him, keeping guard, and now it's time to decide what to do with the rest of the day.

As Paul (that's Kelly's Paul, confusing I know with two of them!) has a Capri and is in the owners club, we decided to head over the Newquay to the Duchy Capri Club meet.

Dylan got very excited, as he is used to attending these events with his daddy, and watched on in awe as both Paul's inspected all the cars on show.

There was a live band playing on a large stage, there were bouncy castle and ball pits, which would be visited later on, but in the meantime, Dylan decided to grace us with some more of his fantastic dancing, which I managed to catch on video for you all to see.... just click on the large arrow in the centre of the video image to start it playing

following this little display from Dylan, we carried on around the show

finally ending up at the bouncy castle and ball pit, where my camera battery died - sorry! I did manage to get this last shot of my little godson being cheeky once more - Bless Him!

Having mooched for a couple of hours, it was suddenly time for Kelly, Paul and Dylan to leave and head back up the A30 towards Walsall :-(
It has been a lovely weekend, and we were very sad to see them all head off home.... I wonder how soon we can tempt them down here again, mmmmm?

BBQ Time

After our busy afternoon in the sea, we headed home for de-sanding, and to prepare for a BBQ supper.

Dylan enjoyed a few minutes with Uncle Paul, before the food got put out.

then it was just a case of making friends with Hamish, while Sally-Ann and Mike looked on

and Paul looked for a picture of a tattoo that his friend had just had done, that had won an award at the Tattoo Convention in Plymouth the previous week!

Sally-Ann got her priorities right, with the two glasses of red in her hands, whilst Mike thought better of the wine and went for the chocolate eclairs on offer from the kitchen table!

Dylan realised that Mike was the one to follow, and soon showed us how wonderful his eclair was!
Another day was coming to an end - but what a great day it was!

Groovy Godson!

I've been so excited ever since Kelly called to say they were coming to see us..... finally they are here, and I was determined that the weather would be good to us and that we could spend some time on the beach.

This was to be a flying visit, so it was 10.45 am on Saturday morning when they all arrived. Following an egg and bacon muffin, and a well deserved cuppa, we headed on down to the beach at Portreath.
It's a hot, hot day. 8am had seen the car dash board state 22 degrees, and so we knew it would be getting warmer as the day progressed. With this in mind, we packed the beach tent and wind breaks into the boot of the car to give us some shade on the beach, and set ourselves up between the safe yellow and red flags that the life guards had put up.
It was then time for Dylan to don his fetching little sun suit and shades - he looked like a proper little surf dude!

He could not wait to get into the water, and went trotting off down the beach with us all racing after him to catch up.... so much for being afraid of the water! Not my godson, Oh no! He is an extreme fun wanting babe, and kept going deeper and deeper, loving the waves slapping him in the face and stomach!

Ah Ha! thinks me.... I'll get him on that body boarding yet..... and he loved that too! despite the first wave knocking him off, he climbed back on and tried again, Bless him!

we eventually came out of the water and went back up to our little beach village for some juice and fruit, and then it was time to go back in the water again, as Dylan went charging off in that direction once more, ensuring that we understood his latest request.

We had a lovely time on the beach, but eventually had to head back home.

We had decided on a BBQ for tonight, so it would give, me a chance to get the salads, quiche and potatoes ready....

Yum! Hungry already!

Mom and Dylan

After a pretty good journey up from Cornwall last night, we arrived at Paul's moms to a hearty meal and big hugs and kisses.
We settled down for half an hour before heading off out again to see his sister briefly, as she was unable to see us any other time over the weekends due to other commitments.
Saturday morning saw beautiful blue skies once more, and we headed off into Sutton Coldfield with Mom to see what we could get her for Mothers Day. We suggested a charm for her Pandora bracelet, and she was told to pick what she liked and we would get it for her. After a successful shopping trip, we headed back for a quick lunch, and to get ready for our trip over to Walsall for Dylan's 1st birthday party.

After 2 failed attempts at visiting with Kelly, Paul and Dylan since November, we finally arrived in time for Dylans 1st birthday party, and I was able to get a cuddle with my new Godson.
He was such a happy little chap on the day, and kept us on our toes with all of his running around - I think he had an eye for the girls though, and Abi certainly doted on him

Paul was lucky enough to get quite a few cuddles from Dylan before it got to crowded, and every time I turned around there was this lovely little lad tottering over to Paul with his arms out to be lifted up.... then everyone turned up and he had his pick of people to fuss over him LOL

It was a great chance for me to catch up with my friend Lisa and her daughter Abi, who I haven't seen in the last 3 years since moving to Cornwall.

Abi eventually overcame her shyness of the camera and was then giving the orders of who to take a picture of and what the poses should be LOL

It was a lovely afternoon and we were very sad when it came to an end

We headed on 'home' to Mom's and by now were looking forward to the dinner she had planned for us - Lasagne, salad, garlic bread, Baileys cheesecake and double cream with Baileys..... are you starting to get the picture as far as Baileys is concerned LOL.

The cheesecake was very boozy, and very lovely, and as there was some left I was told I could bring it home to share with Sally~Ann.......
It wasn't until I got through the front door after the drive home that I realised it was still in the fridge in the West Midlands! NOOO!!!!!!
It was really sad to leaving everyone once more for the trip home, but we know the next trip is just around the corner.
Thanks for a fantastic weekend x

Weekend Fun Ahead

This weekend is a very busy one.
We shall be travelling up to Birmingham on Friday afternoon to spend a couple of nights with Paul's Mom. It is Mothers Day on Sunday after all, and I seem to have managed to be ill on the last 2 occasions that we were supposed to go up to see her.... not on purpose of course!
It is also my Godson, Dylan's 1st birthday on Saturday, and Kelly has asked us to come over to see them for his birthday.
It will be a fun packed weekend, and despite having to take a knockout tablet to be able to get in the car (long story, involving and accident many moons ago, and a terrible fear of passengering in a car on a journey) I am really looking forward to seeing Mom and my friends.
Fred is all excited too - he will be having his Teddy and his Bear packed, so that his Nanny can see him being a good boy playing with them....
Role on Friday and to be able to have a Mommy hug xx

Dylans Christening

I know I'm playing catch up - Sorry!

On the 24th January 2010, it was Dylan's' Christening. I am his godmother, and as such needed to be in Birmingham (about 400 miles away).
The plan was that we would drive up on the Friday 22nd, have a Christmas Day on the 23rd Jan with Paul's Mom, and then hop across to Walsall for the Christening on Sunday, before driving back that night ready for work on Monday.

This obviously did not happen like we planned. It was only 2 weeks since my Op on the day of the christening, and my the Thursday before I knew I would not be able to travel, due to the pain, and complications of the infections that I had.

Kelly and her Mum were wonderful, and spoke to the priest who arranged for me to be God Parent my proxy. Kelly asked her own God Mother (her sister Margaret) to stand in for me, and the priest included me in the service, by saying a prayer for me to get better.

And so, in Kelly's words, it is official - I am now Dylan's Godmother, despite not being there.
We shall get together soon and have a celebratory meal - I can't wait!

Dylan!

I fell in love with this picture so I nicked it off of Kel so you could see how the latest man in my life is doing - "in't 'e 'ansome li'l thing"...... as they say in Cornwall!
Sorry Kel - Don't tell me off - I can't help being a bit biased now can I!

I'm so excited and cannot wait to see my new little God Son and his lovely Mummy.
