A Little Quiet Time

It has been a horrible few months, culminating in the loss of Pauls Dad, Mel, who fought a long battle with cancer.  The funeral was beautiful, and an awful lot of money was raised for cancer research, Macmillan and the local Sunrise Centre, in lieu of flowers.

Now it is time to stop, and to take time out to come to terms with what has happened and how we move on once more.

We had our holiday booked for the best part of 12 months, and were meeting up with Sally-Ann, Mike, Jamie and Phill at Umberleigh, and having a big birthday meal for me on the Sunday, along with some more friends who were coming to join us.  We decided to cancel that holiday.

Instead we found a camp site only 45 minutes from home, where we could hole up and do nothing if we didn’t feel like it.  It also meant that we were close to Jannah Beth (Paul’s youngest sister) if she needed us.

The camp site was at Tregurrian, not far from Newquay, and just a mile and a half from Watergate Bay and it’s gorgeous dog friendly beach.

Once we had pitched up we decided on a wander to the beach to stretch our legs and give Fred a run.

It was a lovely day, with the sun shining on us.  We could have been anywhere in the world, but we together and happy in our peaceful retreat from everything.
