Park and Ride Surprise

We decided to head into Truro today, as Paul needed some new glasses.  We wanted to pop into various opticians on spec so to speak (please forgive the pun) to try and get a walk in appointment there and then.

When we arrived at the Park and Ride, we were greeted with beautifully decorated concrete balls.

They were all done with knitting.  Unfortunately I have no idea who made them all, as the sign had been rained on and had run so much it was illegible.

Such a lovely treat to see – well done to the creative knitters who did this, whoever you are.

The above image is what the concrete balls are normally like and below the transformations…

It bought a smile to everyone’s faces as they walked past to the bus station.

Meanwhile, we managed to get an immediate appointment for Paul, and his glasses were ordered.  A good day all round

Another Night at the Theatre

Another girly night out with Sally Ann, has taken us to see Dolly Parton’s stage musical of  9 to 5.

I was really anxious that it would not be true to the original movie, but Wow, Wow, Wow! It could not have been more faithful to the storyline or script.

A superb show and cast.  Go and see it if you get the chance, you won’t be disappointed!

What is a Mother?

Tonight I cried.  Then I cried some more.

My gorgeous baby sister-in-law, Jannah-Beth, sent me a ‘Like a Mother’, Mothers Day card and gift.

To say that this was unexpected would be the biggest understatement of the century, but the meaning behind it, and the love with which they have been given will never be lost on me.

I love you so much my baby girl

The Best Kept Secret Ever…

Since the end of October I have been planning and scheming with Karen (P’s sister) and Marg (P’s Mum) to arrange for them to come down from Birmingham to Cornwall for the weekend of Paul’s birthday.

The amount of double meaning telephone conversations and voice messages that have been made and left over the past few months in order that he did not work it out has been incredible.

Well the plan worked.  Karen rang the doorbell first, and I sent him to answer it, while his mum hid around the corner.  She then rang the doorbell, and the tears and happiness flowed.

What a blindingly wonderful weekend of love, and hugs and family and relaxation and good food.

Thank you both for helping to make Paul’s weekend so wonderful.

Organising JB’s Room

A lovely weekend with our gorgeous little sis helped us to complete her princess canopy over her bed.
