Trelissick Gardens and Restronguet Point

The weather looked promising this morning, and we wanted to make the most of the day, so decided that we might drive over to Trelissick Gardens  for a wander through the grounds.

On entry via the National Trusts office, we were told that the Arial Motocross Bike Club was exhibiting in the stable block, and so we headed on round for a looky-loo
The club members were very welcoming, and allowed us to look over their precious bikes as our leisure, and answered any questions that we had, and Paul had many of course!

Then it was time to wander through the gardens

and then Paul spotted what looked like a big poo!

It turned out to be a beautifully carved ram sculpture!

We wandered for a fair while, before coming across this wisteria covered bridge to walk over.  We then realised that this was the bridge that we had walked under the last time we came over to Trelissick.

The winter weather had obviously taken it’s toll on the gardens as you can see by the temporary brace that had strapped to these two trees!

Having walked our little legs off, we then stopped off at the cafe for some spicy carrot and coriander soup with a roll, and some natural lemon and ginger soda.

We wandered the gift shop before leaving and then decided to divert to Restronguet point before we headed home

above, you can see the remains of the beautiful Pandora Inn that was destroyed by fire a few months ago.  It is shrouded with scaffold and sheeting for the restoration work to take place.

Paul enjoyed the view up the river, and watched the canoes as they headed up river.
What a lovely day.

  2. It sure looks like a lovely day. How funny that the license plates are sideways on the bikes.
Lunch sure looks good. Carrot and coriander mmm good.
It is great that you took the time to enjoy the day and all it had to offer. Maybe summer is coming soon. Many more days like this to come.

  4. Thanks for your lovely comments regarding my cards. I have no more talent than you have as your cards are lovely too. I have picked up all my inspiration and tips from watching either Dawn on QVC or Create and Craft shows.

I thought Amy was supposed to be on today as she was listed on the EPG but apparently she's on next week between 6pm-8pm.

It must be strange her still being there and getting her own contract when Dawn has gone. I wonder how the presenters, especially Catherine, who was pretty friendly with Dawn, feel about it all - it must be very odd.
